Ward 6

The Cardiology Ward cares for patients who are receiving treatment for cardiovascular disease, with conditions treated including congenital heart defects, cardiac arrhythmias, disorders affecting the heart muscle and high or low blood pressure. Many patients are successfully treated, with good long-term results and using treatment methods as diverse as drug-based therapy, certain catheter-based procedures or even the implantation of a pacemaker.

The Cardiology Department specializes in the use of modern techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of an increasing number of patients who present with severe heart failure, offering up-to-date treatment options such as resynchronization therapy as well as other types of cardiac stimulation techniques and drug-based treatment. In addition to a normal ward, we also have a separate section for the continuous monitoring of seriously ill patients (Intermediate Care).
