Aside from an Emergency Department, the Heart Center also has a Clinical Decision Unit - an interdisciplinary ward that is equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring and diagnostic equipment. The Center also has a Chest Pain Unit that has been certified by the German Cardiac Society (Gesellschaft für Kardiologie).

While the purpose of the Clinical Decision Unit is to assess and investigate patients who present with a confusing constellation of symptoms, and who need to be assessed by specialists from different medical disciplines, the Chest Pain Unit is responsible for delivering high-quality standardized treatment procedures to patients with chest pain and suspected acute coronary syndrome.
