Birgit Pilz has been an employee of Immanuel Diakonie since 1993. After starting out as the Head of Nursing and Care Services at the Brandenburg Heart Center in Berlin-Buch, she became the Head of Nursing and Care Services at the new Brandenburg Heart Center, which combined the Bernau Hospital, the Department of Internal Medicine at Zepernick and the Brandenburg Heart Center in Bernau.
After completing her nursing training at the Medizinische Fachschule (technical college) in Berlin-Buch in 1980, she spent the years between 1980 and 1986 at the hospital in Berlin-Buch, where she worked as a nurse whilst also training to become a Nurse Specialist. She qualified as a Registered Nurse for Positions of Leadership in 1986, and became a Ward Manager at the hospital in Berlin-Buch.
Between 1989 and 1993, she completed a nursing degree at the Humboldt University of Berlin, and was awarded the Diploma in Nursing.
