The Intensive Care Unit is responsible for treating critically ill patients with life-threatening conditions affecting vital organ systems. The Department of Anesthesiology offers a range of modern anesthesiology procedures, which are carefully selected according the needs of the patient. Innovative pain management helps to alleviate patient distress and suffering.

The Department of Cardiac Surgery was the first cardiac surgery department in the Federal State of Brandenburg, and has been treating patients from the Berlin-Brandenburg area for the past 20 years. The Department offers all surgical procedures that are currently available to adolescent and adult patients.

The Department of Cardiology offers all of the most relevant diagnostic and therapeutic procedures currently used in the field of cardiology. Every year, more than 6,400 patients are treated in our three state-of-the-art catheterization laboratories.

The Department of Perfusion Technology is responsible for providing the medical devices that are used in the treatment and care of cardiac surgery patients, both inside and outside of the operating room. The Department's responsibilities range from the maintenance of cardiopulmonary bypass (heart-lung) machines to the preparation of prosthetic heart valves prior to catheter-based heart valve replacement procedures.
