Department of Cardiology

The Department of Cardiology is responsible for the treatment of inpatients with cardiovascular disease. Our main aim is to detect and treat cardiovascular disease early, and if possible to prevent the disease from progressing. We see patients with severe congenital heart defects, cardiac arrhythmias, disorders affecting the heart muscle and patients with high or low blood pressure. Many of our patients can be successfully treated, with good long-term results and using treatments as diverse as drug-based therapy, certain catheter-based procedures or even the implantation of a pacemaker.
