Department of Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a type of therapy that helps people recover movement and function. Physiotherapy focuses on the whole person, and as such forms part of our holistic approach to patient care.

Department of Physiotherapy

Mobilization is a crucial part of successful recovery. From your first day onwards, you will be cared for by qualified physiotherapists from the Immanuel Hospital's Therapy Suite "Therapiewelt", a service that is led and managed by Frank Willimsohn.

As part of your mobilization, and in close collaboration with your treating physician, we will devise a program that will allow you to achieve certain milestones - such as sitting on the edge of the bed, standing up next to the bed, sitting in a chair, taking a few steps around your room, and finally taking a short walk up and down the corridor. Different types of exercise classes are on offer to help ensure that patients regain their mobility. In this manner, patients are being prepared for the physical activities that are required as part of their follow-up treatment/rehabilitation.
